The last chapter of the book is “The loving eyes of God” where he talks about our deep direct connection with the Divine which is beyond the personal self. You will want to implore and work on yourself. Once it hangs in front of you, you can’t escape to Netflix and chill. There are things that you might already know and there are things that you might have no idea about, this book is an amalgamation of the known and the unknown and bringing it to the forefront. So after the initial hiccup in the first section, I found myself finding peace and some workable advice on improving myself. But then I remembered my friend’s advice to always go with open arms into a subject, the more you open yourself the more wisdom you will find. I was reading this book along with my cousin with whom I had a long discussion on the initial section. In the first few chapters I had a lot of questions but as I moved in the question receded and the understanding of the author’s words started playing its magic on me. He in fact turns to a single source that has phenomenal direct knowledge on the subject that is you. There aren’t any religious views or philosopher quotes. The author doesn’t pour you with statistical data nor does he call upon psychology experts. So with this, you begin your journey in the book. Which “self” is the great author talking about? The one which comes surging high when someone throws dirt on us and we contemplate on taking revenge or the one who gets humbled by the outpouring love of strangers when we speak up the truth. And from here the author leads you into the first question room of the book. The deciphering of the above lines by the greatest playwright goes like this: To maintain an honest relationship with others we must be true to ourselves. The above lines from Shakespeare’s play Hamlet are the lines that the author uses to give you a glimpse of what the book has in store for you. “This above all: to thine own self be true,/ And it must follow, as the night the day,/ Thou canst not then be false to any man.” Each section has three to five chapters under it from The voice in your head to Infinite Energy to Stealing freedom from your Soul to Contemplating Death. The book is divided into five sections: Awakening Consciousness, Experiencing Energy, Freeing Yourself, Going Beyond, and Living Life. The book comes from Michael’s years of spiritual experience. The Untethered Soul is written by Michael A.Singer. This beautiful book was recommended to me by a dear friend who has introduced me to so many new aspects of life, the journey within is one of them. As you relax and feel the resistance, the heart will want to pull away, to close, to protect, and to defend itself. You will feel tremendous resistance to doing this, and that’s what makes it so powerful. This is very deep growth and transformation. You must be willing to be present right at the place of the tightness and pain, and then relax and go even deeper. Stay open and receptive so you can be present right where the tension is. Relax your heart until you are actually face-to-face with the exact place where it hurts.

Do the opposite of contracting and closing. Just start seeing these inner experiences as energy passing through your heart and before the eye of your consciousness. “When you feel pain, simply view it as energy. What kind of life is that? It is a life of pain. You had better not spend your life worrying about whether people like you or whether your car impresses people.

From that perspective, do you really care what people think about your clothes or your car? Do you really need to feel embarrassed if you forget someone’s name? How can you let these meaningless things cause pain? If you want out, if you want a decent life, you had better not devote your life to avoiding psychological pain. You’re just standing on one little ball of dirt and spinning around one of the stars. And that galaxy would look like one star to us, if we could even see it. In fact, it is estimated that there are over a trillion stars in the Spiral Galaxy. Though you can only see a few thousand stars, there are hundreds of billions of stars in our Milky Way Galaxy alone. You are sitting on a planet spinning around in the middle of absolutely nowhere. Walk outside on a clear night and just look up into the sky. “To get some distance from this, you first need to get some perspective.
